Applications are invited for the various positions in Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala collaboration with PGIMER, Chandigarh under ICMR funded research Project with following details.

Project Title: Artificial intelligence enabled non-invasive glucose monitoring package for achieving glycaemic control among Type 2 diabetes mellitus patients delivered through primary health care in North India.

Name of Positions:

1. Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical) — ₹73,700/month (01 Post)
2. Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) — ₹61,600/month (01 Post)
3. Project Technical Support-III — ₹30,800/month (01 Post)

Duration of the Project: 03 (Three) Years

Essential Qualification:

1. For Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical) — ₹73,700/month (AGE Limit:- 40)

a. First Class Post Graduate Degree, including integrated PG degrees with three years’ experience or PhD. 

OR

b. Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including integrated PG degrees with PhD and three years’ experience.

OR
c. For Engineering / IT / CS – First Class Graduate Degree of Four Years with three years’ experience.

2. For Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) — ₹61,600/month (AGE Limit:- 35)

a. First Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees. 

OR
b. Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including integrated PG degrees with PhD. 

OR
c. For Engineering / IT / CS – First Class Graduate Degree of Four Years.

 

3. For Project Technical Support-III — ₹30,800/month (AGE Limit:- 35)

a. Three Years Graduate in relevant subject/field + three years’ experience OR PG in relevant subject/field.

OR  
b. For Engineering / IT / CS – First Class Four Years Graduate Degree + three years’ experience.

Job Descriptions & Responsibilities

1. Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical)
- Lead AI/ML model development.
- Oversee hardware implementation & integration with wearable sensors.
- Manage sensor, clinical, and imaging data.
- Publish research papers and supervise junior team members.

2. Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)
- Implement ML and signal processing workflows.
- Support hardware development, testing, and deployment with wearable devices.
- Work with wearable and clinical datasets.

3. Project Technical Support-III
- Assist in data collection and preprocessing.
- Field support, device setup, testing, and maintaining device logs.
- Handle office documentation work, file management, and record keeping.
- Assist in preparing reports, spreadsheets, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with team members, schedule meetings, and manage communication workflows.
- Support hardware operations and troubleshooting during data acquisition.

 

The selected candidate may be eligible to register for a Ph.D. at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology (TIET) (if interested) in collaboration with PGIMER, Chandigarh, subject to institute norms.

• Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview based on merit and experience of the available candidates and decision of the selection committee will be final.

Note :- This position is for a total duration of 3 years and the position is available immediately. Initially, it will be offered for 1 year, with the possibility of extension for an additional 2 years based on satisfactory performance.
